Wrong Site, right engine

Okay folks- Does anyone know of a comparable site like this for Lincolns? If not, you're the best I've got

I know-screen name says I'm a Pontiac guy, but I adapt-

Anyway, I have a 1996 Lincoln TC Signature with a 4.6L that I just picked up.

CEL codes are PO171,174,304,1131,1151

Given all the lean codes and all, I figured to go through a vacuum leak check, and work from there. I'm reading this site for the P17* codes, and will do all those checks.

Any other hints that I might need to know? Thanks a ton for any info you've got!

Welcome to the forum. I think we can help you out here.

Look closely at the PCV hose assembly. There are a couple different rubber connections on the plastic tubing that are known to get soft and and crack causing vacuum leaks. I would also clean the MAF. Just spray the filaments with either MAF cleaner or brake parts cleaner. They do not leave a film. I wouldn't touch them with anything because they are very fragile.

Try this and let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the advice, and the other sites guys! I really appreciate it!

I've checked the PVC & cleaned the MAF-I used carb cleaner. No change there. I'm thinking maybe intake gaskets(?)

I had one that had strange issues. Turns out the connector going into the pcm had a couple of pins that had pushed back and had bad connections.

Could also be a bad MAF sensor.
