Dropped the tranny pan and found this....

Hey guys. I decided to change tranny filter and change to synthetic. Had step by step instruction from the forum so I thought I would give it a try. Drained the fluid and pulled the pan. What I found was crazy. These was a athletic sock stuck to the bottom of the oil pan!!!! I must have missed this with all the tanny threads I read. I have had no problems with the shifting of the truck since I got it 4 years ago. So if anyone is missing a low cut sock, let me know.

Careful and wear rubber gloves...you never know what "tranny" that sock was on before yours...

Someone previsouly attempted a filter change and bought a 2WD in lieu of 4WD filter (assuming yours is 4WD). When they found the filter was too short, a thick sock stuffed between the pan and filter was cheaper/quicker than going back and getting the correct filter. Slackards they are.

I dropped my tranny pan and had to switch old one with new and all I got was a pan full of metal filings! I would much rather find a sock than what I found lol

I found a note in mine saying; "Help I'm third from the back in the front clutch pack and wondering if I will ever see daylight again. My partners want out too, this guy is working us to death."

Does this surprise you?

After all you found it on your "X"!

Nobody should know your "X" better than you! Nobody!

Your X must have been sleeping around and tried to hide the evidence.

It was prolly for that "foot-pound" of torque that got lost at 25,000 miles.
