Air Intake Kits and Intake Manifold Suggestions

I am looking into buying a cold air intake system and intake manifold for my 2006 F-250 PSD. Banks seems to sound like the end all be all of truck performance but alot of people have said that Banks are overrated.

What would you recommend as far as a good system to go with. I am looking for increased MPG's a little more acceleration and a better sound.

Let me know what you guys have used and what you thought of what you bought.

Thanks

Don't waste your money. The stock system is VERY VERY good on the 6.0's. It has more than adequate filtration and provides WAY more airflow than what the stock turbo can use. You won't get better MPG's or acceleration simply by changing the air filter. If you want better throttle response and MPG's I would suggest you have your FICM tuned by PHP. That would be a much better bang for the buck than a CAI.

what he said^^^ I bought an intake about a year ago believing these statements to be true, but really they arent. I had my intake in for a month with no improvements, the only thing it did was let dust in the intake and make the whistle louder

+ on all of the above. Use the money for 2 or 3 tanks of fuel. It'll get you farther.

I once fell victim to those pretty BANKS ads that infiltrate EVERY diesel magazine.

COLD air intakes do nothing but ad worthless bling to your truck. spend that $250+ on a coolant filter kit, some synthetic engine oil and a 30 pack of beer.....you'll be happier with the results.

Definitely listen to the advice given....bismic, nccpartsman, 69cj plus many others know what they are talking about.

+3 I've owned Banks systems before. Spend your money elsewhere. Like everyone has said, the stock intake and filter on the 6.0 flow great.

I think this is a first on any of the boards!! Not one praising an aftermarket intake.

+4 keep the OEM intake filter setup.

I've got an AFE stage II intake and I'm needing to buy a new filter, it;'s all wrecked.
Just wondering if anyone has tried the 'stock drop in filter' from AFE. I gotta buy a new filter anyways, and if I can sell my stage II as is, I'd be able to still take home a case o beer.

Chipped, 4" exhaust, studs.

I have a Airaid cold air intake on my truck. I only get about 13 MPG on 37x13.5x18 all terrain tires. The intake was on the truck when I bought. I wood listen to the fokes on here. They know alot.

Just my .02 cents.
