Front Leaf Springs

Would these work for a 97 350 psd in front or do I need to go heavier?

Thats what I have listed for an F350 4X4. Same spring as is in my f250 4X4. There is a 43-498HD spring that is three leaf. If your in Northern California I have a new set of the HD springs that I'll probably never use.

Your links pricing is way out of line IMHO.

Ok thanks. I am in Wisconsin. Are the 3 leafs that much better? Just looking to replace the worn out ones. Drivers side is kinda kinked. The ones you have are those 3 leaf or 2?

The 43-498 is a two leaf pack. The HD pack is three leaf. I couldn't use the three leaf. To much lift on a Dana 50.

250's and 350's had different springs.

The 250 springs are heavier.

putting 350 springs on a 250 doesn't work.

Just an FYI there.

F250 springs dont have as much arch since its IFS, F350's have more arch. Also those HD packs are just Reproduction High Boy Springs if I remember right.

If you get the wrong springs on a TTB, they will fail.
They cannot handle the odd angle and weird torque the TTB puts on them, Thats why the TTB springs are thicker.

A guy about 8 months ago put 350 springs on his 250 in here with TTB and wondered why it was sitting so low in the front all of a sudden.

Just food for thought.

I think the deal with the 250 springs is they are tapered springs, the center is really think and thins out as you work yourself away from the mounting u-bolts. Seen here http://broncograveyard.com/images/ca...DIESELFRNT.JPG

The f350 spings with solid axle is a straight spring as it does not have to deal with the twisting motion.

With that said, I have a add-a-leaf on the front and that is a straight spring with no breakage. The only thing I can fault it is the occasional squeak crawling over REALLY rough terain like driving across 8 inch ruts in a dried out mud pit. The heavy steel spring clamp that wraps around the oem springs will squeak under tis conditions(metal on metal) but nothing that I see that is worrisome.

click "accessories" for the add-a-leafs
