Just to clarify this issue, 302 and 351 oil pans do not interchange. The overall size and shape is the same, including the pan rails, but 351's use larger main bearings, so the rear main cap is larger. That means the half circle opening at the back of the pan is larger to match on the 351 pan.

For the 302, this is the perfect rear sump kit. It comes with everything you need; pan, pickup, dipstick and tube, special mounting hardware for the pickup, etc. It's all there, all new, and delivered to your door in just a couple of days.

Sorry guys, my pictures are very disorganized and I need to get them s
straightened out. I just set up my first GALLERY this morning. there are no pictures in there right now but soon. you need to look at my albums under my username.
here is one recent picture with the JAG welded and my F3 fenders, kinda hard to compare because of the larger wheel openings, but I don't have my F1 fenders yet. the tires are P225/60/15 on 8" wheels, don't know the backspacing...the bottom of the frame horns are at 9" from the floor. the complete engine is in, no radiator no hood. I wiegh 220, standing on the frame horns, it drops aprox 1/2" to 3/4"
I don't think the rest of the parts on the front will wiegh more than me.
ok...now the rear...i measured to the TOP of the frame ends, because the bottom is in need of a little straightening.
floor to top of the frame is 24". but no bed on and not done in the rear.

and yeah the garage is a disaster!

Jeff if you could finish that front end this week with new fenders and wheels so I could see the stance it would be great, if they are in primer that will be ok LOL.... I have the Heidt's Crossmember and power rack and that pan won't work for my 289. I had to order the Canton 15-620 to clear the rack.

The rack has a couple of large spacers needed to offset it from the crossmember so the boots won't rub on the heads of the lower control arm mounting bolts. They kick it forward and up just slightly. The Canton pan should clear, by my estimation and measuring, and should not interfere with the headers either.

Of course you can't just order a pan. The 289 has a dipstick in the front of the block so you need to get the dipstick that goes into the pan and then you also need the extended pickup tube.

Another bump in the road and thread that got pulled.
