Question modding a legendary '03 f250 7.3L powerstroke

i'm 16, and recently just "inherited" an '03 f250 kingranch 7.3 liter powerstroke (444 cubic inches, v-8, 17.5:1 compression ratio, 4.11" bore, 4.18" stroke, single turbo charged, peak horsepower "275hp" and peak torque "525lb/ft) with around 120,000 miles on it all stock. and for my birthday i'm getting some modifications done to it to have a better truck than all my friends. i'm looking at a 10" superlift lift kit, kmc XD775 machined wheels, 37x13.00-17LT superswamper TSL bogger tires (10 ply sidewalls, cause we have alot of ghetto "african americans" that like to ruin other peoples trucks cause they can't afford them), AIRAID quickfit air intake system, MBRP XP series stainless steel 4" turbo back dual stack kit with 6"x36" black angle cut stacks (+18hp and +28lb/ft torque), TS performance 4-bank chip with 6 position switch (stock, high idle, 50hp, 75hp, 100hp, and 140+ hp extreme switches), bullydog shift ehancer kit, banks quick-turbo turbine housing (to help the sluggish take off). and i'm wondering if, with all the parts on i could rev the engine to max rpm's and take off running the 140+ hp switch on the chip at full throttle without dropping my transmission? and still beat an '04 dodge 1500 5.7L hemi, s&b cold air intake (now shriveled up from getting soaked by my stupid friend, cause he went "water-over-hood deep in mud), 3" lift, 25" nitto trail grapplers? any input would be appreciated

Sorry, nothing against you personally but I can't even reply to the questions in your post. In my opinion, there is just so much wrong in what you wrote.

i was basically saying, with those mods could i "quick take off" with the chip setting on 140+hp without ruining my transmission. and the other one was. "the chip on the highest setting and just the stacks would send the stock horsepower of 275 all the way up to 433 horses, and would that be enough horses to beat my friends truck in a light to light race?

Welcome to FTE.

Let me start by telling you the 7.3 had 250hp at the crank which would leave you around 200 +- at the wheels. Go down to the 7.3 forum and do some reading, because when a chip says it has 140hp, it means you could get this with supporting mods. Mods like bigger turbo, bigger injectors, and so own. Once you put that lift and the big tires on, the truck will still be a dog. Forget about beating anything with the mods you are talking about. Don't look for your engine to last very long without gauges. You won't have to worry about the trans, because the engine will go first.

You need to slow down and ask questions about each mod and how it will effect your truck.

Good luck.

thanks for the info, and input. it's the kingranch green with tan sidepanels right now, and i'm thinking about either keeping it green and calling it "the hulk" and putting that across the side. or maybe painting it like the general lee (the dukes of hazard car) and having a rebel flag across the back window or the tailgate. which sounds better? i'm getting more people that like the hulk better (but that's mostly cause they're not as redneck as me), but personally i like the general lee idea more it's just a matter of my parents wont pay for a new paintjob and i don't feel like paying to get it done. and also the fact that most of the black people don't like me and i don't like them and they're bigger than me. but don't get me wrong some black people are cool, just not the obnoxious ghetto ones.

You either have a 6.0, or dont have a king ranch. There was no king ranch 7.3

As mentioned before, slow down. Start by making sure you know what engine you have. Some things are fairly well known.... Ford having the 7.3 and 6.0 in 03 is one of those things. Find out for sure. Do some research then ask your questions.

Someone also mentioned that so much of what you say is just plain wrong. Consider it said again.

You are right about that. And a good 6.4 will beat a 6.0 with no chip, and the 6.7 will beat a 6.4 with no chip. But sometimes we just got to chip our truck.

Stop reading the magazines and talking to the guys that don't even change their own oil. If you are wanting to race other trucks, get a good job and a beater truck to get there.

ok the fordhouse really just pissed me off now! im pretty sure when i got the billing records they sold it as a 7.3, now i check the f***ing vin and it's a 6.0! thanks (ian123), i think i'll be going to the ford house tommorrow. and (f3504me) i had my computer taken away for a bad grade and just got it back today, and i was talking about getting a paintjob for it. it was already the kingranch green, and i was thinking about keeping the stock paintjob and putting a name on it like "hulk". and i was also thinking about painting it like the dukes of hazard car which is called "the general lee". don't know which one though.

Now that you know it's a 6.0, go down to the 6.0 forum and start asking questions. My guess is you will want to start with head studs and gauges.

Don't be too disappointed with the discovery that you have the 6.0. It can be built bulletproof too. And that variable vane turbo will get you off the line quicker.

Good luck.
