I pull in O/D sometimes. I think the big thing is to take it easy when you are in O/D.

great info guys, I hate keeping it off when pulling on flat land it was just something a buddy had told me : "Never pull in O/D". this will make life a little quieter now!!

exactly, good common sense. I wonder sometimes if I'm going to wear out my OD button.

I got another 94 crew cab for the mirrors. it was missing the engine and rear axle but the body was real nice. Couldn't beat it for 200 bucks!!! It was a gasser too. Those mirrors go back to about 84 or something like that. I know my father has identical ones on his 84. I had the standard chrome fold aways on mine so had to drill the two lower holes. I just put the original bolts back in the lower holes from the old ones. The two upper holes are the same.

Those are called "california style" mirrors IIRC.

The other Cali style called mirrors are on the 60-70's trucks.
Where they have the u-bar by the bat widow with the HUGE tall mirror that obstructs views really well.

800-900 seems normal.

I run 650-700 just doing 65 down the highway.
