2001 Ford Lightening won't idle after mods..HELP ( race coming up)>>>
Mods that I've made... The Truck will start without mass connected..With mass connected it will start and backfire ( if throttle is held open)and there is this pinging noise also.
Injectors..60lbs
Boost 20-25lb
Ported heads trick flow
3.4 whipple charger
Headers ( no cats)
2 fuel pumps ( 255 LPH)
Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulators
Single Blade Throttle Body (big mouth)
SCT BA 3000 ( MASS AIRFLOW)
Lobe Separation 114...
Above are the mods that my cuz in the islands has done to his lightening..Now Truck starts but it won't idle... The truck is in the islands and its build for racing..
Could it be the computer???? Ideas needed as soon as possible cause major race is coming up..

I probably shouldn't even ask this ,but, It dose have a good tune?
Could be a vacuum leak or the IAC might need to be cleaned or replaced.

You said you have the SCT BA3000 correct?
That should be fine if your tuning is right.

I would try someone Else's tuning contact Mike at 5Star tuning they can get you fixed up I'm sure

Hi I really hope you have gotten your problem fixwd by now! would love to hear what the solution was. on the other hand I haven't read that any1 mentioned calibrating the Mass Air? def sounds like its lean if its pinging so I'd also lean towards a tuning issue.... sorry for the broken record, it also could have something to do with the Cats and EGR delete if thats been done....Good luck!
