Attn: rare rust free scs bed found!

I could not believe it, but there was a very nice super camper special bed at the scrap yard here in the desert. Only a few small dings on the entire thing and NO rust anywhere. I could pull it and save for someone if they really want it. Rear quarters are perfect.

Getting pics.......

Funny thing - I haven't been able to sell the last 2 rust free ones I have found out here in CA. Even at $400 or less price wise. Things just got cut up and scrapped...

I have been trying to sell a good 79 rust free bed,no luck at $400.00 or less. I could spend another $200.00 to $400.00 and make a trailer out of it and still only get $400.00 or less. Not worth doing anything but scrap it i guess. I tried to sell the clean s/cab that went with it all glass, doors, good chrome. Was offered $50.00,so it went to scrap. I think cash to spend is just not there for a lot of us nowdays.

I could drill the spotwelds and try to sell the bedsides I guess, a lot easier to ship. I wonder what they would bring on ebay?

Man that makes me sick. Here in Missouri you wouldn't find one so easy. I looked at so many dents before finding mine in Iowa believe it or not. All of the ones I looked the beds where junk. I have spent so many hours on mine with the bed floor patch panels. Let me tell you, thats a pain in the rear. At $400 that would be a steal. Wished I lived closer. I've seen bedsides oem go for 700.00 easy (one side).

the thing is, the bedfloor in not rare you could put one from a '98 250/350. or buy it new. the bedsides and wheel wells are rare, i like how it does not have a "lip" its smooth compared to a standard styleside.

I'm on a budget build with mine. Cheapest floor was around $400. I didn't know you could use a newer bed. Cheapest new oem bed side is around $500.00. the pass inner was almost $800.00. I had to use the fender patch panels on mine.

Let me clarify-its just the floor pan itself is the same, i dont know about the support structure, I once used a '95 floor on an old dentside.

Thats what I figured you meant. I had a problem finding a bed support for mine. I was going to make one until i seen that support had a tab welded on it. I ended up buying one for a step side and welded it in place. It looks more factory.

I know the shipping would be a bit but take a pic and I might be interested in that. The way I look at it my floor is beat up as it hauled firewood for the previous owner but my sides are pretty darn good for Indiana.

A few extra bucks is worth it compared to all the labor to fix mine.

Let me know.
