Someone Keyed My Truck (Pics)

I was getting my 250 detailed from top to bottom, inside and out earlier this week and didnt have time to pick it up until today. To my surprise, some low life had keyed the passenger side, tailgate, and driver's rear quarter of my truck. The scum took it all the way down to the bare metal. This is my first encounter with vandalism. I have no enemies (that i know of) so how could someone just stoop low enough to do such a cowardly act?

Man, that hurts just to look at it. Did this take place while the car was in the detailers possession? If so, he/she should be responsible for the repairs.

How nice would it be to stop into the bar for a drink and find a guy sitting at the bar with red paint chips on his keys bragging how he screwed over some random guy with a gorgeous truck?

That sucks!

A friend of mine's wife had her Tahoe keyed when she worked at a college here in Oregon. Some piece-o-crap keyed "GAS HOG" in the side of it. I'm sure it made their moral superiority complex even worse as they got into their Prius and drove away (my supposition).

Wouldn't it be fun to catch them doing that?

Do you plan on filing an insurance claim?

This happened at the detail shop parking lot? If it did I hope you had a chat with owner. Could be a disgruntled employee, angry neighboring business or part of a rash of vandalism in the area so the police should be contacted to at least give them a heads up.

I'm sorry to hear it happened. I know that would turn my stomach upside down.

Is there any chance it can be cut out or is it throught the pain?

Police report? Call to the insurance company? Discussion with the shop owner? Beautiful rig dude, you need to exhaust every avenue to fix this.

That really sucks! I had this happen to my old 92' F-150.The A-hole [I suspect my jealous brother-in law] did both sides and stopped at the drivers door and put a couple extra scratches on the door.I hate to admit it but after it got repainted it was actually nicer than before.

Oh man, that sucks!
I agree that if it happened at the detailers - I'd hope their insurance would cover it.

I've had my share of vandalism to my vehicles to I know how infuriating that sort of thing is.

Ouch. That hurts just to look at. I'd be furious, and hope you find the *****er.

Pretty sure the detail shop is responsible if it occured on their property. Hopefully you showed it to them before you drove it away.

I parked too close to someone one night in my Expedition... I knew it, too, but was in too much of a rush and figured I'd be in and out of the store before they came out... They put a huge X in the passenger door, which was the side they were parked on. My own fault, and was fixed beautifully... but I was crushed that my baby had a scar.

Good luck...

Went back for another look. Just noticed your reflection in the one shot. Thank you for wearing pants while snapping the pics.
