Possible truck, has tranny problem

I found the perfect truck on craigslist. 2wd 302 automatic, the tranny is broken though. Its a 4R70W. How do i found out how much a new one is, or how much a used one is... Or can i pick up a different tranny?

It also has rust inside the radiator. What does that mean?

Rust in the radiator is just a sign of long neglected cooling system. Who's to say there aren't more neglected things on that truck. Unless you're getting this truck for next to nothing, best just forget about it. A used transmission is a crap-shoot at best and the money spent for a new transmission could be better spent on a better truck.
