Just an opinion.........But why would you want to lift a truck with 19,000 original miles??? I'd leave it alone............it would be way cooler left as a survivor than starting to modify it.

I'm not really up on 2WD lifts but you can give skyjacker, superlift, ruff country or rancho a try.

I believe the name of one to try is Autofab. Check out the "lifted 2WD thread".

Might want to make sure its not a twin I beam susp. If it is and you lift it you will shorten your front trac.

All the 73-79 2wds had the twin i beam fronts. Depending on the kit there will be no problem with how the suspension works. Search around here for chasetruck74 or 76hauler. they both have lifted 2wd builds.

First off a bodylift is a waste of time and money. That **** is for people that refuse to do things the right way.

Heres the threads i told you about. Read each carefully. You also need to come to the understanding that this wont be cheap. If you want to do it right then youll have to read up and be prepared to shell out the cash.

Also heres a link to the autofab stuff. top notch parts to say the least.

if you want to do a bodylift dont go with the theory that they are for people who refuse to do things the right way. they are cheaper and i prefer them stacked on top of a suspension lift. anything above 6" on suspension gets to the point where you have to worry alot about pinion angles and durability. not a great problem to have for a street ride. i usually run 6" suspension and 3" body on all my trucks so i could get the height i wanted without all the headaches and money kits get stupid after 6" on the price usually. there are few things you need to know about them to make them look right though. move your bumpers up cause they look stupid when you leave the bumpers down. and if you have shifters that come through the floor cut and weld in extensions for the shifters dont cut your floorboard that looks awful. replace the cab bolts with grade 8 bolts for safety reasons. good luck with whatever you choose i always support lifting a truck even a 2wd. (i had a '90 2wd with 9 inches on it)

Knowing you keep looking at the 73-9 forum i knew youd catch that.

Usually a lifted 2wd means prerunner. Seeing how those trucks are abused at high speeds a body lift doesnt seem like a good idea. Street drivin or mud truck doesnt really have the chance of getting barrel rolled like a prerunner does.

But im glad you pointed out the little things that you need to do when using a bodylift.

lol you know how i feel about my body lifts. i would agree alot of em look stupid and some not safe but its all in how you do it. i would assume he is not gonna use his 77 f250 for a prerunner but you never know. cheeto have you ever put a bodylift on anything?
