Tbh, I cheated and googled it, lol. This thread is way too educated for people like me.
Gee whiz, you live in Pasadena and don't know what the L/A City Hall looks like?

(sigh) What is the world coming to?

Yes, Los Angeles City Hall is correct.

Why would a Pasadena (or Whittier) resident have any reason to know what Los Angeles city government buildings look like? I know I don't go there, unless there is a damned good reason. I would have had to google it too Even though it has been in countless movies and news reels, I'm sure.

So I'm on jury duty. My first time in a United States court. Not too much different than state courts, but some noticeable differences.

L/A City Hall has been featured in countless movies and TV shows, Superman and Dragnet (both in movies & TV shows) to name two.

IMO: It's probably the most recognizable building in the US besides the Empire State Building in NYC

I've never been to the Beverly Hills or Pasadena City Halls, but I know what they look like. Never been to the Santa Monica City Hall either, but I know what it looks like.

'Course I'm a Santa Monica native, and lived there for a time, so...

It is 15 miles from my home, and it takes me 1.5 hours to get home. I think that calculates out to an average of 10 miles per hour. It is "only" 45 minutes to get there in the morning.

Lol, Mr. ND.
I just google mapped the address. I have never had reason to go down to that area. Although we did put 360 motorized shades on the roof of The Broad, a couple blocks away, I was not on the install but I fabricated every single one of them. We have done work in the Walt Disney Concert Hall also.

So, Los Angeles Courthouse and City Hall? Nope, I dont know. But I can tell you where a really good hotdog cart is a few blocks from it...

The Broad. Eli Broad, a billionaire, built a gazillion homes and has a huge art collection. Now he's patting himself on the back by opening his own art museum.

I like art, but I ain't going, as he's a far left wing Democrat. Supports Hillary and etc., but doesn't support the NRA, hunters, gun collectors.

Broad located on Grand south of the Disney Concert Hall (also on Grand), which is only a few blocks WSW of L/A City Hall. Open your peepers and take a look-see.

The Mason Temple in Alexandria Virginia is reminiscent of the LA city hall but is more impressive to me.

I learned that there is a public observation deck in the city hall building. I may try to get over there during a lunch break. The 27th floor, IIRC. We've been having mostly clear days recently.

I've only served on one jury, Doctor negligence trial, and I wouldn't mind doing it again.
I did learn however, it's the old " hurry up just to slow down" effect when on a jury. You have to be there early, then wait, go back into the courtroom, just to wait, called for lunch, only to wait again, but be back again early...just to wait.
I bet you'll have some time to go check out that viewing platform.

Trona Pinnacles, Searles, Dry Lake.

Depending on how you go, you might pass there on your way to Death Valley.

These are aftermarket conversions, probably by a local body shop.

Too true Bill. Anyone with a sawzall and bondo can be in the conversion bizness.

Keep their tops on and go old skool.
