Thanks Im kind of rushing through this too. I plan to have it up and running by fall. Got to have it running so I can get back on my 63 and then use this on weekends for fun till 63 is complete and then I will do a complete tear down on 65, like I am doing on the 63. Im pretty sure yours will come out great you just have alot more fab work to do than me. Yours is going to involve alot of think time to make a fat fender crew 4x4, and alot of fab time to but it will be a one of kind.

Wore out a wire wheel this weekend getting the floor pans and rear frame ready for some por15. Still have some more to do next time. Picked up a few more wire brush wheels from harbor freight. Here is what it looks like till next time.
Tall trans cover needs cleaned por15d and painted.
Tin worms have been busy. This will have to be addressed when the frame off resto occurs.
Rear frame is over half way wire wheeled .

Prepping dash for a squirt of rattle can wimbeldon white by plasticote. Steering column will be rustoleum gloss black.
Floors of the cab are por15d
u get the idea. The rear frame and rear end is pored
Now that the por is on and dried it will be painted like the front frame with rustoleum satin black makes it look factory. Need to get some more por for drive shafts and the bed floor and other odds and ends. One quart has got me this far so probably will need at least one more. Started sanding and priming the bed for 63 that will reside on the 65 frame till it goes in the garage to join the cab.
Also ordered some hedders from Sumitt racing for the FE. When they get here we will then finish putting the motor together and get it in the truck so some of the front sheet metal can get put back on. Im still thinking I will have it moving under its own power by fall or at least before it snows. It would be interesting to find out how long it has been since it did that. Probably never know unless I can find out the last time it was licensed for the road. If run on the farm that may mean nothing.

Thanks there Muscletruck. Hoping the ride is not going to go to much longer. I see you like the highboys and falcoons too. Heres one I pulled out of a wrecking yard back in late 70s early 80s.
Crappy pics they were taken with a cheap cam from that era. These pics were taken shortly after getting it on the road. Kinda be nice to still have.

i tried to find some pics of my falcon, but i think that i lost all my digital copies when my computer crashed... I pulled it out of a field in 2004 still wearing 1984 plates. a battery and gas and she fired up! unfortunately got put on back seat when i went to college. currently all primer gray and needing an interior. I think that they are beautiful little cars, I would love to have a little wagon like that one for family use.

Doing a little more this weekend. A messup on my part leads to the dash ending up satin black. Clear coat tomorrow. This is the before. When it landed in the driveway.

Now after my bad. Satin black with a clear coat may not look to bad until something better comes along.
Sorry about the crappy pics getting use to a new camera. I assembled a gauge package out of spares I have aquired through the years. Just wanted to see how it looked with the gauges in place. A word of advice dont try to paint anything big with plasticote original paint rattle cans it is a waste of your money. It might work good on the small stuff not to good for large area.
Finished paint on the rear frame section took away some of that shine.
