well oscar is back in the garage with several improvements since my last posts. has some side boxes that are actually underbed boxes turned upside down as I didn't have 4 ft under the bed to mount them. has a front bumper and we made a front hitch for it too. I will get some pics this afternoon the reason it is n the garage is a radiator leak..

How hard is it to find a clean cab in the rust belt?

You're a weldor. All those parts can be had.

I would like to see your front bumper and receiver.

yes I am a welder but for what it would cost to get all the panels and weld them in I can just buy a cleaner cab that will probably outlast me or the rest of the truck. the receiver is hidden behind the front license plate. I welded a piece of angle to the bottom of the frame and the receiver to it then cut a hole in the bumper for the hitch to go through. I wont use it too much but I have to take the plate and plate holder off to use it.

Maybe some sort of flip down -James Bond like- plate holder?
When I was a kid pumping gas many cars had the fuel filler behind the rear plate.

I always thought a welder was the machine and a weldor was the person who did the welding?
Maybe I'm just too old?

lol yes the welder is the machine and the weldor is the person doing the welding. yea I thought about that type of license holder but I am building a bumper for Oscar and I will mount the license plate off to the side probably and the receiver im hoping will stick out enough to put the pin in so you don't have to get on the ground to do it

yes the cab was off this truck when I did the frame swap. my idea then was to get the floor, rockers, and cab corners redone. but the cost was pretty high for the parts and the labor to have it done. so I have been keeping my eyes out for a cleaner cab that didn't have so much cancer. now that the drivers side rocker is falling out in the rear it is time to get it fixed.
