Today I went up and played around a lil bit and swallowed a lil water in my 1986 6.9 if I. Now as I was driving home there was a crazy amount of steam or smoke not sure, dumping out my tail pipe. What did i do... will drying the intake fix it? What do I do?
Thanks
If it's running and not hydrolocked due to *too much* water, let it run. It'll dry itself out in short order. Smell the exhaust to determine if water, antifreeze or unburned diesel.
I've read that three times and I still cannot decipher what happened. Can you describe how [you] [your IDI] swallowed water?
I went threw a deep puddle and sucked up water in my intake.
I started her up and it's a lil less smoky but now it's got a weird psss.psss.psss.psss sound and with every one of those it sends a huge wobble and it shakes the whole truck. Could it be a push rod??

You definitely knocked out a cylinder somehow. Yeah, definitely look at the valve train.
