53-56 F100 Cab Mounts

Along the same line here....i don't have any rubber cab bushings, though they are on order. I'd like to know if anyone has a rough idea how tall the bushings are or how much it will lift the front... Trucks in pieces so alignment is not an issue right now.. The transmission is barely making contact with the floor with the trans access removed. Hoping the bushings will lift the cab enough to clear.

1948/56 Ford Truck Parts Catalog / Volume II ~ Illustration Body Section 100 ~ Page 373.
Catalog available on CD from hipoparts.com / Comes in handy when people want to see parts pics, as you can see.
First 1948/56 truck parts catalog pics I've posted in this forum, cuz I just got the CD

Thanks... that's going to save my bacon!
As luck would have it, the "Mail-person" dropped off the bushings this afternoon... Right after my trans cross member was finished and I was thinking... "man, wish I had my bushings so I could put the cab on..." Ask and ye shall receive!!!
Thanks for the help!

I'm not sure what models beyond the F-600 were interchangeable cabs, but I believe the only difference between the F-100 and the F-600 were larger front fenders starting as an option on the F-350 (had both large and stock fenders on same cab). My experience is the cabs on F-100-F-600 are identical so the cab wings should be identical. The front sheetmetal should also be identical and no alingment issues, just the different size options in the front fenders. Inner fenders should be the same on all models. I have never had experience with the F700 cabs.

The front cab mounts just sit on the metal tabs stuck on the frame mount. No complication there.
The rears have a trick to installing them. The bracket at the frame bolts on with the round radiused part of the bracket, down. The funny shaped rubber block will fit into the top of the bracket and the arm will ride on it holding it in place.
To install, have a jack and 2x4 under the center of the back of the cab with the bottom of the cab about an 1 1/2" off the top of the frame.
Install the top of the arm into it's mouinting spot in the cab. Slide the bolt the thru.
Assemble the lower bracket onto the lower part of the arm and install the funny shaped rubber block into the bracket. You might have to pry open the tabs on the side of the bracket for the rubber block to fit. Slide the bolt inplace to assemble bracket to arm. Swing bracket and arm up into position on the frame and line up the mounting holes in the frame. Use an punch to align holes. You might have to jack the cab up or down for final fit. Do both sides then tighten everything up.
As the cab can shift slightly from perfect center, I always check my side to side measurements to make sure the cab is perfectly centered on the frame. Just check it at the front cab mount, make sure the bottom edge of the cab is the same distance from the frame on each side, then tighten the cab mounting bolts.
Don't forget to get new cab plugs for the back of the cab access holes.
