non-step bumper and trailer hitch

Does anybody have a non-step bumper like mine and a trailer hitch. im just curois as to how its gonna look. I mounted my bumper higher and tucked it closer to the body than a factory one would have been. I almost wonder if a hidden hitch with a flip up licence plate would be better. I really need a hitch to pull my boat. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have a "little" non step bumper on my 83 step side. I installed a reciever hitch that I think looks pretty good. But I dont know how to post pictures. If you email me I will send you a picture.

Saw one at the wrecker on the weekend. Looked to me like a regular hitch (for step bumper) and it sort of stands out a bit. Not as clean looking as without a hitch of course, and not really hidden as it would be by the bigger step bumper. I would go to a hitch shop and have them mock up a few brands to see what looks best.

This is the setup on my 78. I love it. I believe the bumper is a Bronco bumper. It looks clean and the hitch tucks under nicely. I wanna do the same with my 86.

Those style rear contour bumpers were used 1964-1986 as an option. More F-series pickups used them than Broncos.

Some were painted, some were chrome plated.

In 1973 the holes in the bumper was changed due to the widening of the frame in the rear.

Painted Contour Bumper: Fits 1964-1972: F-100/F-350: 1973-1977 F-250 4x4 (Highboy):

Chrome Contour Bumper: Fits 1964-1972: F-100/F-350: 1973-1977 F-250 4x4 (Highboy):
C4TZ-17906-B

Chrome Contour Bumper: Fits 1973-1986: F-100/F-350 and 1978-1986 U-150 (Bronco) except 1973-1977 F250 4x4:
D3TZ-17906-A

Here is a picture of the hitch on mine.

here is a blowup diagram: The stone deflector is not used on the F-series.
