5 Star does AFE Intake on 5.0L
Hi All
Finally got our hands on the AFE intake for our 5.0L. We use AFE products in our 6.2L applications they have worked well in the past. Install is very straight forward and easy. Plus it made more hp/tq on cheap 87 octane gas with a tune. We also use the optional lid/top we crated for our Raptor customers with reduce the sound by 50% ball park. I dynod it with and with out lid/top was no difference. Here are pics of stock and AFE intake.

I like this a lot but biggest thing is will the intake or a tune void your factory warrenty, read on some the dealer can tell if you've changed the computer. I know you can put the factory intake back on but I'm more worried about the tune. Truck only has 150 miles on it, hate to void the warrenty already.

Should of asked if that was true about the tune or not. Don't have the money to blow an engine on a brand new truck just to find out the dealer wont warrenty it, if others do more power to them but if they cant trace a tune if I put it back to stock I will be looking at one.

What the law says and how things are actually done are totally different. While the law does indeed state that Ford has to prove that the modification caused the problem, Ford is in the driver's seat. All the dealer has to do is deny the the warranty claim right or wrong and the burden of proof is placed on the customer to get Ford to honor the warranty. While it may be wrong to do, a lot of dealers are actually playing this way. If you have a dealer that doesn't do business this way, give them a lot of business and referals.
