Fuel Prices are out of control

I was up in Santa Fe running some errands and planned on buying fuel while at it. The first price I saw was $4.14. Luckily I knew that Smith's grocery is the cheapest at $3.95 - 10 cents per gallon discount if you have a Smith's card. $3.85? What sort of price will we have to pay this coming summer? I may have to consider a WVO conversion. The only thing which has held me back is the price of the kit and the space the tank would take up.

I left the Republic for New Mexico 7 years ago. I almost recently made a trip to L.A., I had based my fuel price at $3.99.. Glad I held off this time around.

I remember diesel prices being down in the double digits years ago. Less refining and it costs more, what gives?

Supply and demand. More and more people using diesel...so the refineries charge more for it. Total ripoff....but what are we to do?

Going SVO or WVO would be good except I'm not sure about SVO sources and WVO is only as good as potluck finds and or an understanding or contract with a restaurant owner. At least the ability to supplement diesel fuel would be a nice addition.

As far as petro goes, it may only get worse.

I've heard of people burning used motor oil but I imagine it would need to be filtered in some special way or I would think the injectors would go poof..

I think it is only going to keep going up. Time to build new refineries and drill here at home. Stop sending our money over seas for oil. We need coal to diesel technology also. We need jobs here in America. Lets get the drilling rigs running and the contractors building. Time to make the environmentalists an endangered species!

Yup, Ma sucks. I have to drive 20 min from my house to get diesel... and there are at least 15+ stations in that 20 min radius that don't have diesel! $4.10 when I filled the other day...

OT EDIT: Kris, I promise I'm not stalking you on FTE... I just realized I've been posting right after you in quite a few threads. BTW: Your furniture looks great from your front lawn.... kidding
