I think the kit was $50 something like that. It came with all the hoses and clamps, but I made my own hoses from oil hose and re-useable ends from the heavy truck place. Much tougher and matched the hose type on the factory oil cooler. Putting the adapter on in place of the original filter is a piece of cake. All the work is in mounting the filter(s) and running the lines. Does it work better than the original filter?YES! This truck only had room for a tiny filter because of lack of space under there. Does it filter better than 1 good filter? Meh, I doubt it. Maybe if you are running synthetic oil and go for extended change intervals the double filter would pay off. But it does look cool! And you gain a little extra oil capacity.

I'm glad this thread came back up. Initially, I didn't care for the 8th Generation trucks but after having one for the last 6 months, I've grown kind of fond of them.
Below is my 1990 F150 XLT Lariat. It has the 5.8L, E4OD, 4x4, Supercab, shortbox. I bought it completely stock and have slowly been modifying it and making it mechanically sound.
Modifications include Moog cc824 springs to level the front end, Ford 15x7.5 Alcoa alloy rims and 31x10.50r15 Falken Rocky Mountain AT tires.

Yup. It was a mild shunt into a telephone pole. Just enough to take out the bumper, core support, A/C Condenser, and hood. But not the radiator or anything else. Then the guy towing it from the salvage yard up to the guy I bought it from jackknifed the tow rig in the rain and took out a fender, door, and windshield. Door and fender were mild crunches and the windshield was from something getting bounced off it, not by impact to anything around it. So repairs are strictly unbolt, and bolt on.
