!!!! Show off your 92-97 Trucks!!!!
#346
Bought this about a week ago:
It's good to have a Ford again.
I've been browsing this thread to see if there's any good looking mods to install.
Thus far I've decided it could use a new clear coat, these trucks look a lot better shiny. A bug guard definitely looks good on these trucks as well. I like the swing out mirrors more, but I haven't made up my mind on if I'll put some on this truck or not. I'm not sure what happened to the "4x4" stickers but I might pick some of those up. Eventually I may put a small lift on it but I'd wait until the current tires are worn out so they don't go to waste.
If anybody has any suggestions please visit this thread:https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...k-95-f150.html
Before all of that will come the regular maintenance that goes along with buying an old used vehicle, it has a small valve cover leak that needs to be addressed, but I've heard that's a fairly common issue on the 300 so I won't have to start a new thread for it.

Well here it is
1997 f250HD
5.8L 2wd auto
10.25 sterling rear end with 3.55's and open diff
It was a dog hauling this load through some back-roads in the Adirondacks. At one point i was laying in the gas pedal but i heard a litle noise and then smelled a very bad burning smell. we pulled into a gas station and let her cool down. My brother couldn't smell it in the passenger seat and we noticed when we stopped that you could only smell it from the drivers side. Any Ideas what it was? (tranny, hot engine? Differential?) I did have the ebrake on when we were loading it because we were on a pretty steep hill (maybe it didnt full release and that was the burning smell?) which i would have been stuck on if i didnt have all that wood in the back. Took it easy the rest of the way home and it was fine. Was doing 35-45 mph up the hills
Probably doesnt help that it needs new plug wires but still...
It gets stuck in 1 inch of snow or more, ive gotten it stuck in an open grassy field that was a little damp. This is strictly setup to be a highway hauler.
Id like to know what the person who bought this truck brand new was thinking lol
(Truck came new from MA, we are in upstate NY)
