removing pto that won't remove.

I'm attempting to change the seals on a slowly dripping pto attached to a T-19 transmission. Removed the 6 bolts and I can't get it to budge. Are there any tricks to it? I've had it apart twice in the past, first time used a pry bar and damaged the shaft seal. Second time no problem.

Now it's not engaging.

Took the pto to a friends shop down the street that had my seals from when I asked if they could take care of it (slow drip after a run) when they put on new exhaust... He cleaned it, took it all apart, even painted it, put it back together correctly as far as I know. Now that I've got it all together it's not catching when I pull the lever to raise the bed. The shaft on the pto is moving back and forth but no spinning or familiar sound when engaged. Any thoughts please?
