1961 Ranchero...5 spd ?

I am cosidering swapping the stock 170 cid with a 200...Can i put a 5 spd behind it...or a 4 ?
It has a stock 3 now.

Bells are available for either.

There are adaptor plates here:

Modern Driveline, Inc. - Adapters

They mention '67 and later 200s for one particular adaptor. I know the later 250s have the SBF V8 bell pattern, but I don't know what is different about the '67+ 200s.

We had a 200 in a '65 Mustang, and while I hated it, I can see that a 5er would have made a huge difference in performance, vs. the C4 it had. That and some decent brakes and tires...
