Drivers power window

My drivers side window is starting to go slow when rolling up. Also it seems to slip, like when I am rolling it up it some how falls down a little. I have never messed with the window or motor. Don't know how it works. How do I fix it?

Pull the door pannel off and use some fluid film or spray in grease and spray down the window tracks and stuff inside.

They dry out and make it harder for the window to operate causing this issue. Will get you some more life outa the motor. This is the biggest cause of the window motor dieing.

If you get some silicone spray or some fluid film.
The track seal where the window seals around the door. Spray that in the crack.
I think the correct term is Window Guide Seal.
Yea, those get dry and make it harder to push up.

Get that stuff all sliperied up and it should be working good for a while.

To replace the window, you have to do some drilling to get to the bolts.
And then its a lot of fun if you got really big hands to get the motor in and out.

Mine has been replace before I got the truck, and its a cheap chineese replacement, it doesn't work well.
So make sure you buy one that has good reviews.

Many of the "new" ones are mfg outside the USA and are of poor quality. Ford used to sell reman ones w/ exchange and they cost more but held up & had a short warranty (6-12 mo?). NAPA used to sell reman that were OK too. Another opt is to rebuild it yourself, but make sure the parts are not overseas as they don't hold up. Like Talyn said check for the quality & rep before purchase. If you remove the regulator punch out the pin in the center of the rivits then drill them w/ no larger than 1/4" bit. They s/b aluminum, replace wl aluminum "window regulator" rivits (others may be steel, too long, or wrong head) and you'll need a "big daddy" rivit gun by Marson I think.

Keeping the track and regulator lubed are important and may be one problem.. In my window the gear in the motor had little plastic shock ***** that started to fall apart causing the window to chatter. You can easily replace these gear kits by removing the motor and taking off the plate that covers the gear.. Any auto parts store sells the replacement for about 20 bucks.. Good Luck.
