I remember reading Ford put "memory" features in the 2008 truck's so the dealership could tell if you've been using a custom tune. Was that just the diesel trucks or the gassers too?

That's why I said "should". I believe Ford now has (or always did have) a reflash counter in the PCM - every time you flash a new tune into it, it increments that counter. For the diesels, Ford is being very cautious when it comes to ANYTHING drivetrain related in regards to warranties.

Gassers, not so much. However, if you dropped a valve or threw a rod, I'm sure they would check if you had a tune in it.

Just to add to this, if the flash has been done with anything other than the Ford Rotunda flash device the counter reads "999" indicating that a flash has been installed by an unauthorized device.

I just learned this last weekend of a 5.4L Raptor owner who just had his warranty revoked due to an engine modification that may or may not have caused a transmission problem. Don't know if it was tuner related or something else.

Just had my first 9.5 mpg while towing (travel trailer) experience! That was a pleasant surprise since it still involved several passes (up I-5 from Redding to Oregon over Siskiyou). We're normally in 7.5 to 9 range. Mostly 8 to 8.5.
For once, no head winds and minimal traffic. Actually had a touch of tail wind. Also, no toys (dirt bikes, quads) strapped to the truck and minimal weight. Were in no hurry so we just cruised with the semis at 58-60 mph. I've noticed they've slowed down a bit in the last couple years as well. I'll have to see if I can consistently get 10% better mpg by driving 5 mph slower.
