Maine registration problems in NY

I have not had that experience in the Maine , but I can say, you see people, everyday in Texas, with Oregon or Montana plates on thier 5er or TT, yet truck registrations are Texas or Oklahoma. I guess they have a PO box or something there (be Oregon or Montana) and bought their RV as I believe there is no Sales tax. Also registration may be cheaper there!
I don't see why there is a problem, but these days, who knows. When it comes to towing or driving RV's, most states are pretty leaniant.

Truck and trailer plates don't have to match. As long as the trailer is legally registered/insured in another state you'll be ok.
I have property in another state, trailers there more than six months so I have it registered, insured and pay taxes on it there. Towed it cross country and across the border with no questions asked.
