Hey phil, i know the 5.4, and 4.6l 4r70w are interchangeable, but... arent the 5.4l 4r70w trannys build a little heavier? Heavier bands and clutches or somthing?

I remember reading this on a mustang site a while back but never heard if there was any truth to it?

Well, he don't bother asking any of that...lol
But yes,
as far as I know the 4r70 behind the 5.4 is built better then the one behind a 4.6
They also run a different torque converter.

Yup im aware of that, had the higher stall for awhile. it was fun for launches, but gave up some low end power for towing.
