No, the only shared parts between the D44HD and the D60 are the brake rotors and calipers.

Besides, I don't think the spindle/hub is the weakest part of the D44HD, the axleshafts are usually the first to go. I believe the weakest part of the D60 is the hubs and the outer stub shaft.

Oh, just the dually adapters? Just unbolt the adapters from the D60 hubs and bolt them on to the D44 hubs. You are just doing this to run dually wheels on the front? Just for the looks to match the rear? I don't see any reason why they wouldn't fit.

the 60 dually fronts actually mount the selector hub and i think the outer bearing and locknut asembly.. and yes i'm buiding a dually and dont want that sill 3/4 ton front dually rear look....as for adapters i've only found one of the right size....95-99 dodge 4X4 fronts...the chevy and gm are too short and the new fords are metric...p.s. my truck is a 4X4..

Ya, the only duallies I've messed with are 2wds and the mid-90s 4x4 dodges and I know you can swap the adapters back and forth with no issues. Never messed with the 4x4 Ford dually stuff. Good to hear you found a solution.

I used dually wheel adapters from a 95 3500 4x4 chevy the only thing is I had to use the chevy dually wheel cause the center is smaller than a ford wheel . The chevy adapter bolted nicely to 78-79 d44 hubs that I used .

You don't really HAVE to use the chevy wheels do you? It's the lugs that locate the wheel anyway. Or am I wrong?

I put the ford rims on first and had a huge vibration an discovered that the ford wheel was not centering on the chevy adapter ! The chevy adapter has a lip on the center of the adapter for centering the wheel . When i put the chevy wheels on no more vibration !

I dont see why you couldn't bolt on D60 spindles. All the brake parts including the dust shields and support bracket for the calipers are interchangeable so you would be able to bolts a spindle on. Only issue I see is that the outer axle shaft may not be long enough in your 44 to fit the whole way to the end of the D60 hub which may be a little longer and I know as a fact that even though they are the same diameter the D60 outer shafts have a larger spline count.

So as a whole it is not going to work.

okay same deal on the chevy adapters, u find um i buy um and kick to you...so if the dana 60 spindle fits couldn't i use dana 55 ttb parts and the longer stubshaft with maybe some bast*** joints to fit the shaft along with the dana 55 hubs..then add the danas 60 dually hubs and call it good...

I know this is old but I'm researching this myself and wanted to say that Dana 50 or 60 stub shafts won't fit in the 44 cause of u joint size.

On a side note how much would those Chevy adapters be worth?
