Just bought my first

i bought a 96 f 150 last week its got a strait 6 with a stick. im not sure yet if its a 5 or 4 speed? anything i should know? i need to change the oil pan gasket any pointers? i appreciate the comments.

lol...

Try to put it in 5th gear. If it's a 4 speed, 5th won't be there....

It is a 5 speed though

i dont have a plate yet so i have only drove it about 2 miles i got it to fourth also my first stick

its a 4 speed! with overdrive! lol. shes a 5 sp. and im probably sure youll have the m5od2, which is the mazda 5 speed. but im not too sure about the oil pan gasket, as ive never had to replace one. but good luck to you

Oil pan gasket is pretty straight forward and easy to get at with the 300, should be no problem, might wanna change the rear main while you're at it though

Congrats on the new truck, I'd like one like it but got enough vehicles
