If I were to pull the transmission pan off, would the shift solenoids be right there so I could replace them or are they somewhere else in the tranny?

 

I am not an expert but seems to me that the threads on the transmission solenoids are more involved than merely replacing them. I would do a search on this forum and maybe some other 6.7 diesel forums for solenoid reprogramming or replacement.

 

You can't reprogram solenoids. You just replace them. Take the pan off and they are right there.
