Looking for an oil bath.
I have been chewing on this for quite a while and based on what some of the older users (literaly) have said I want to try the oilbath thing.
Wanted complete oil bath aircleaner for a Holley 2V/4V pattern carb that will fit a 64 F100.
I am looking for a fully servicable piece cheep. I aint cheep just dont want to spend a ton on somthing I aint totaly sure about. Dont need to be 100% period correct, just fit propperly.

Flipklos, I have seen some of the guys on the slick forum give accolades to the oil baths. Still dont believe they are worth messing with, but sure would sell you one if I had it. Anyone out there need an oil bath for a slick with 1 bbl carb? I do have one of those. Check this cool air filter out. It is 10 in. diam. and 4 in. tall (housing). Came on 60-62 1 tons and same period of F500s).

I dont know how to touch this comment?
I have messed with oilbaths on tractors and small equipment. Always found them to be a bit of a PIA.
This is the deal.
The truck came with a large hi-po open face paper cleaner.
There are a few leaks in the old manifolds.
This causes the exhaust to foul a $22 element every year.
I dont want a snorkel aircleaner on the thing and when I finaly decide to completely redo the truck I am going to go wil ramhorns so I dont want to buy any manifolds. Though I may braze them this summer.
Oilbaths look period and seem to work OK. That is why I thought........
I could look on ebay I suppose. but you guys have ususaly had good deals on odd crud like this so I figured I would shoot it here first.
Oil baths in Greece, Wow!

You can cut the snorkel off of an 80s - early 90s GM TBI air filter housing. That's probably the most cost effective way. It will shield most of the filter from the exhaust. Really, as a short term solution, a snorkel will probably be best because you can direct it toward cleaner air.
Those housings are plentiful in the salvage yards and are very easy to fit to a carburetor and are cheap.
Another retro but more expensive way is one of Speedway's olds/caddy air cleaner assemblies.
