Does the Edge Insight CTS have any issues in an early build 2003 6.0L?

Will it read codes?

Researching it before I pull the trigger and buy one and I've found old threads about it not being as capable in 2003's v's 2006 and newer.

Any 2003 owners using this product?

 

Yes it will read & clear codes.
Obviously not an 03 owner but The Edge is great quality
Moniter can be used for a back up camera, I got a camera off ebay for $16.00

I was just reading the owner's manual for my Insight CTS #83830 & it says we can use the Edge on any vehicle from 1996 up with an OBD2 port, I did alot of reading before I pulled the trigger & never came accross any info where it did not work right on the 03 trucks, I also got the pod & adapter to mount it on the dash but it comes with the windshield suction cup too, Gigger

 

The posts I read were older, and I searched on google not just here on FTE, so some of the comments were from dodge and chevy owners too.

A lot of the threads did have comments about Edge bringing out updates to resolve some of the pids that couldn't be read on the older trucks but should be available. I'm sure most wrinkles have been ironed out.

I think I'll be ordering one tonight. Looking forward to getting to play with a new toy!!!

I have the CTS 83830 and the expandable EGT 98603 in my cart at VR Speed.

I think I'll be hitting the 'buy' button any time now.

Up to now I don't have a single gauge or code reader. This will really open up a whole other world of info about my truck. Just got to remember to keep my eyes on the road!!!

 

You will love it, the only thing the Insight does not do yet is fuel pressure & they will have
the fuel PSI daisy chain attachment ready in one month to 6 wks is what they told me.
I got the pod #18302 (its grey) & the adapter #98003 too.Gigger

 

The pod I got is for my 06, your 03 might be different. I didn't mean to mislead you there.

For anyone who comes across this thread in the future: the mounting pod for 03-04 SuperDuty & 00-05 Excursion is Dash Pod 18301.

So the CTS, expandable EGT, mounting pod and adapter are on their way!!
Can't wait!!!!!

 

My shipment only took 10 days to come all the way to my place in Canada, the worst part was it sat at Canada customs for 5 days.
