blackout tail lights

Alright so I just got my silver vapour metallic 2008 expo limited (complete with fake chrome rims!)

So I got a few mods coming up this week. Tinting the front windows to match the rears, putting in the weathertech mats, and putting in silverstar bulbs all around.

Are there any good LED taillight or 3rd brake lights out there? That or the fully blacked out lights. Just looking for that sleek look that matches the limited's front lights. It will match the black and chrome 20's this summer ;-).

I was thinking the same thing when I got my 08 Limited so this is what I did.

Basically its the same technique as used on the 04-08 F150 Harley Taillights.

Nope no tint. The tails are disassembled and the chrome housing painted black then reassembled. There is no tint on the red lense part at all, it just looks that way. It's exactly how the front headlights are done from the factory.
Should be 100% legal as the brake/turn light and backup light parts where the bulbs are is unaffected, and I didnt want to do anything that would cause a diminished light output or come back to bite me in the a** if I got rearended.

Do a search for DIY Harley Lights and use the same basic procedure on the Expy lights.

By the way, I bought a set of used tails to do it to just in case I screwed it up plus I can return to stock anytime.

Painting the inside is a good idea. Tint on the outside is just dumb and inviting trouble.
