The report of my demise. . . .

has been greatly exaggerated. (But not by much!!)

This is an open message to everyone at/near their mid fifties -

Take care of yourself!!!!
Pneumonia is nothing to take lightly!!!

I've been laid up since early February with this garbage!!! (And this is the third year in a row, that I've had it!!!!)

Antibiotics.
Steriods for my lungs (Prednisone).
Advair inhaler.
Albuteral inhaler.

More antibiotics.

Laying around, not getting anything accomplished.
Thank goodness I had my dog around to keep my company!!! (I still haven't gotten him trained to bring me a cup of coffee, though!)

If this is what getting old looks like. . . . . I do NOT want it!!!!!

Finally, I'm back at work.

Sheesh. I need a vacation!

Damned glad you are back on your feet.

I am severely allergic to Prednizone...as it crashes my potassium which shuts down my motor skills. Loss of motion in all limbs. Pretty scary the first time and not much fun the second time. Finally figured it out.

Prednizone is the common fix for a lot of things so I am left out swingin' in the breeze....

You take care of yourowndamnself. Ya hear?

Great to hear you are feeling better. Pneumonia can be really bad. The doctor just told my mom she needs to get a pneumonia vaccination since she has smoked and she at risk for it sending her to the hospital if she gets it.

Well back, alive, and kicking! Great to have you back Keith! Here's hoping for a complete recovery. Pneumonia sucks. I was in the hospital for four days with it a few years back and it was horrible.

Dave, here's hoping for a full recovery for you and your wife as well! Sorry to hear you've been sick also.

Glad you pulled through, Keith!

It is nothing to scoff at. I had it once and it was the first time I ever thought I was going to die. But with the dope the doc was giving me, didn't really seem to care!

Take care of yourself, Keith!

I've never had it, but a close friend of mine went through it last summer. Even after a few days in the hospital, he took a couple months to get back to normal. He turned down the vaccine the doc offered, but if you've had it 3 times in 3 years, it might be something to look into!

Thanks for the kind words, everybody!!!!

Dave, take care of yourself and your wife!

Hank, Russell can change channels! He'll jump onto my lap and lay down, and if the remote is there, he'll definitely hit the buttons!!!!

I'm still waiting on him to learn how to bring me a cup of coffee, though!

Here he is, looking at my daughter, thinking, "What does he mean, 1 sugar, no cream?"

Exactly. One shot lasts 10 years and then you need a booster shot.

pneumonia is not fun. i had it last year, and it took almost 5 months to get over.
mine started as the flue, and within 3 days it morphed into acute bronchitis and pneumonia, with bruised lungs and torn muscles on my ribs from coughing so bad. i ended up in the hospital for 9 days, and for a while there everyone was worried i might not come out.
