chevy football washers! NEEDED ASAP!
#2
Hey 300/6. Must've missed this thread.
Unless someone knows of them somewhere, I've never been able to find a viable source for ANY type of thick washers that can be used on the 300. The originals from Ford are $10 a piece, which comes up to $130 for the whole set. Ridiculous.
I found it works just as well to switch the whole setup to studs, double stack two grade 8 washers, use a split washer, and then nut it down. Worked really well for me and was MUCH cheaper.
Look around for a good bulk hardware store. We have one here that is dirt cheap. Example, 13 studs for my engine: $4. One of the same studs at Ace Hardware: $3.
Just be sure to get ones that are wide enough to cross the gaps between the tabs, and narrow enough to get by the runners. The studs on the bottom side come really close to the intake.
And a Hi-Res version if you need it.
