I have an older model JCPenny front tine rototiller that needs a seal in the gear box. It's a 5hp, 26" wide, model 3008. Anyone here have any idea as to who made this tiller for JCPenny? If I'd have to guess it was made in the seventies or early eighties.

"The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; the second is war. Both bring a temporary prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunists." (Ernest Hemingway)
MTD is the source for parts I would check out. MTD made alot of the catalog store (Sears, JC Penny, Montgomery Ward) small equipment back in the day.
