I have a 2011 Ford F250 4x4 with the 20" Michelins and I am having a similar vibration at 70+. It started after my first tire rotation at ~7,000 miles. The dealership has balanced the rear tires twice and now rotated the rear tires back to the front. I do feel some minor vibrations at low speeds, but it is most noticeable at highway speeds and on smooth roads. There is no vibration throug the steering wheel, i feel it mostly through the seat. Also, the tires were road force balanced on a Hunter wheel balancing machine. Has anybody changed to a different brand of 20" tires?

Update

Update for everyone. 2012 F350 FX4 Crew Cab, Tuxedo Black, all the bells and whistles. Bought the truck new with 5 miles on it Dec. 5th. It has been in the shop since Dec. 12th. Vibration is in the floor boards at all speeds but significant at 70 with a load groan noise as well. Here is what the shop has done: new driveline, ujoints, yokes, wheels, tires, shims for the rearend. Today they are taking my truck and a truck exactly like it and switching the entire rear ends. I continue to tell them that I think that there is a balancing issue with the flywheel or a bent fin on the torq converter. I have been in contact with Ford and apparently they are sending their own engineer directly to the dealership. Will update further. Truck has been in the shop for 22 business days today. Love the truck hope they get it fixed or get me a new one!!

Hollywood it appears they have done just about as much work to yours as they have mine. Really sorry to hear it I love my truck to, but for 50+ on the sticker I think Ford could do a lot better. Mine is now getting worse, starts around 33 and goes to about 45 and also felt in the seats.
Also starting to notice that when I hit a bump in the road through those speeds that it resinates through the vehicle.
Heard from the lawyers today and the BBB autoline is also involved. Hope your dosn't have to go this far.

dborne,

Good luck trying to get it fixed. As you can see in this thread, Rear End Bounch at 40-45 mph I have had the problem since I picked up my truck in June 2010.

I went the lemon law route and lost.

One thing I can gaurentee you is that Ford will not fix it! And to use Rick's statement: Shame on Ford!

I wonder how 2011 SUPER DUTY6.7 L made out with his BBB autoline case? Haven't seen him post anything on it since January.

Are you still running the stock shocks?

Yes. I do have airbags which I run @ 30 PSI and they do not make any differance.

I would try replacing the shocks with the Bilstein 5100 or Rancho 9000's. While I recognize that you should not have to spend money to get your truck fixed, it has certainly improved the ride of many of the users here. It may finally solve your problem for around $300. Just my opinion of course, but I thought I would suggest it. I don't like reading about a guy that is frustrated with his truck. I love mine and I want you to have the same satisfaction with yours. Shame on Ford for the craptastic shocks, steering stabilizer, small fuel tank on CC's, (insert your gripe here)...but let's make the best of it with the knowledge we gain from here.

Glad I'm found this, I got my truck 2 weeks ago and have had it balanced 3 times already and is going back in the morning. Its a 2011 and had 9000 miles on it!!! I traded in a 2010 King Ranch 250 that drove like a towncar, I hate this ride. I also have an apointment to install dual steering stabilizers on it, I went with Rancho???

Sad face... My truck has it bad, very frustrating. I haven't seen any report where someone had the issue and fixed it. I try to avoid 45mph, but it's hard to do in city traffic.

I believe I am having the exact issue talked about in this thread with my new 2012 f250 4x4 crew cab short bed. The vibration is terrible around 70mph, I noticed vibration at 45-50 as well but not nearly as bad as at highway speeds. It is lifted 6" with 37" nitto terra grapplers. I did not have this issue until around 10,000 miles. I have had the tires balanced countless times to no avail. It's going to the selling dealer next week to see if they can fix the issue. I will post up what they find on mine if anything. Hopefully a resolution can be found.

Yes on mine the shake returns about 70-75mph and it's violent. You can see the hood bouncing, like driving an earthquake. It's really embarassing and drives me nuts.

took it to the dealer this morning they referred to it as the death wobble and said that it out caused by the steering stabilizer and the track bar, even though I have a fabtech aDJ. track bar. we will see..

Do not let them blame your track bar. The steering stabilizer from the factory is junk. If your truck is a FX4, the stock Rancho branded shocks are junk too.
