Replaced Fuel Pump & Still No Start
I have a 2000 Ford F-150 XLT 5.4L with 215,000. It still drives & until now, runs like a top. I recently had to replace my fuel pump, as just out of no where I would try to start & nothing. You could go back to the fuel tank & kick the side & it would start right up. I finally got to change it & it still won't start. I can hear the pump priming when I turn the key on, but no start. I've checked all the fuses & all seems to be ok & not blown. I read something about an ECU & EEC module but have no idea where they're located or how to check, don't even know if they are relivent to the problem.
Can anyone give me any suggestions? I am so tierd of listening to my wife complain about having to get up early to take me to work before she has to be a work.
Thank you,
Curt

crank no start
dude... before you get stuck trying to reinvent the whole truck, verify that fuel pump you put in is PUMPING FUEL! That is to say mayby you got a bad part, it happens alot. the next thing after that check provided you DO have fuel pressure is to verify if you have spark, treat this problem like any other gas engine either lawn mower or snow plow, check your basics first.good luck.
