Hey

So new to the forum/trucks in general. Little bit of background (apologies, its gonna be a long post!)

Moved from DC to Vegas recently. DC VERY truck unfriendly (additional taxes based on truck weight/my parking space was over a foot too short for a truck). Now that I am in Vegas im looking for a ride that is more 'outdoor friendly' and can tow at least 7500lbs. Looking at getting a 2011 F150 ecoboost, prob FX 2 or FX4. Would like to tune it, current ride is a 335i so would like equivalent power. Any thoughts as to whether I should get an FX4 from a traction perspective?

Welcome to the forum! Go for any 4x4 if you plan to do any climbing or driving on slippery surfaces.

Reporting back. 7000 miles on our max tow 2WD. Included a 4900 mile vacation thru the mid-west as far north as the Little Bighorn. Over all mileage was 20.3 much spent at 70-75. Took 9000 ft. Passes with ease. Top speed on a 6car/truck pass was 98.7 on the GPS. Very pleased with our 3rd Ford PU. Good. Luck to all.....

Talking 2013 3.5 ecoboost

Just bought a 2013 3.5 Ecoboost. Sold my 05 6.0 f350 king ranch that was loaded up with Banks exhaust, intake, 6 gun, blue spring, etc, etc. On a new adventure with the 3.5. Already looking to change a few things, I think I'm addicted to torque. So far I think the base engine is great. Got close to 24 mpg on my first 1000 kms.(Canadian), pretty quick to. Don't want to break it too quckly, so will probably take it slow. Keep the info coming in so I can make some decisions on intake, exhaust, tuners, etc. Great forum site.

Just traded in my 2004 F-350 XL SuperCab 6.0L for a 2011 F-150 XLT SuperCab 3.5L. Quite the switch! Hated to see the 6.0L go, but for how well I treated it....it certainly did not return the favor. Ever since the first time it left me stranded, owning it was like walking on eggshells. Not that I am expecting the 3.5L to be perfect, but I feel much more confident now. Plan on driving this truck for a while, curious to see how this engine evolves.

New 2013 F-150 EB owner

Hi all I'm a hopefully a proud owner of 2013 EB. Not brand new has 5500 miles on it. It's XLT 4X4 Super Cab. I say hopefully because it only has 5500 miles and have trouble understanding why it was a trade in. Salesmen says it was traded in on a Superduty from a person that works at that dealer.. I liked that answer.. we'll see.
Looking for any and all information I can get on it. Just find out about the Oasis Report, can't wait to get to the dealer and ask for that..
Ok that it talk to you all later..

Past owner of 96 Bronco

New member here. Joined this site to share info on the ecoboost. I own a 2011 with 42k on the truck and until recently had little trouble, except hard shifting and now engine stalls on acceleration.
Trying to find the right posts for the ecoboost issues with engine stall.
Thanks.

Not an EB fan . . . yet :)

Stopped by here just to catch some views as I am looking to replace my '01 SCrew with a '14.
Wanted a V8, but due to availability may have to also consider the Ecoboost.
EB may have just stepped up to the front.
Other than service parts, the 5.4 has been trouble free for 275K. Hopefully the 14 will be just as durable.

Picking up my new (to me) 2012 Supercrew EcoBoost 4x4

After many years waiting and waiting and working my hind end off... I finally am setup after test driving last weekend to buy my first F150. I've wanted an F150 for about 10 years, and I'll have it on Friday.

2012 F150 Supercrew XLT 4x4 3.5 Ecoboost w/ 35000 miles on it. I really enjoyed driving it during testing.

I did try to test other vehicles, but the Ford brought me right back like I knew it would!

A little about me... I'm a project manager for a custom metal fab shop, a father and husband, a gearhead, and a lover of engines. Been into turbos since as long as I could remember, and now I'll own my first twin turbo.

On my second 3.5 Eco, first was a 2012 XLT Screw 4X4. Current is a 2015 Screw FX4 Lariat. Liked the first on love this one!!

I think this is my 24 ford product, I have kind of lost count!

Wanting opinions

I am very interested in buying a 2016-2017 F150.. I have been reading up on the ecoboost motors and wanted some opinions. Im either wanting the 5.0 coyote and the 3.5L eco boost. The exoboost sounds good but Im concerned about its longevity . I keep reading about needing to put a catch can on the motor to prevent carbon and other things from being blown back in the engine.
I guess Id like
to know
thoughts from some you that have owned these for a while amd your thoughts on which motor you world recommend for the 16 or 17 model.. thank you in advance

New guy here. I am on my second F150 now. Turned in my 2016 XLT 5.0 Lease for an 18 Lariat 3.5EB. Love the truck. Will post some questions very soon.

Purchased my 2014 FX4 Lariat w/3.5 EB just over a year ago. After researching all the makes models and engines I felt this was the one I wanted. It had all the options I wanted and a price tag I could afford. I haven't been disappointed. I pulled a 30 ft trailer weighing 8000# to Alaska and back with out any issues. Doesn't get the fuel mileage I had hoped for but ya can't win them all.

I am new to the forum as I recently had a issue and was looking for some help to resolve it. I think it is a fuel filter issue but I wanted to see if anyone else has had a similar issue. I think I may have gotten some bad gas.
The truck will suddenly stumble and lose power. I get a wrench pop up in the dash. If you pull over and shut it off and restart the problem goes away, at least for a while. Checked for trouble codes but none present. I'll research the forum for similar issues and change out the fuel filter if I don't find anything. I like to do all the work on my vehicles myself as I enjoy the challenge.
