Ok ... getting ready to do this ... can anyone tell me the preload (inch pounds) for the pinion bearings when carrier is out?

What is the preload for new pinion bearings?

What is the preload for used pinion bearings?

'89 F250 with Sterling 10.25.

Thanks.

The yoke has been loose, the splines are now worn and loose, replace the yoke and pinion or it will just happen again ...

And don't use a crush collar ... Use a Ford 9" crush collar eliminator and you will never have the issue again! Of course that applies with the new yoke and pinion, Nothing will keep it together if you don't replace them!

You might get lucky just replacing the yoke with a NEW one, it is softer than the pinion and thus wears more.

-Enjoy
