it will physicaly bolt on.. just make sure they are both the same rotation, as in the fins angled the same way.

you could look straight down at the fan, the blade on top and it will be / or \
not the exact angle of course, but the direction

so i have been thinking about installing an electric fan instead of replacing the belt driven. does anybody have an opinion on electric fans? a couple of buddies told me i should just leave my truck how it is, it seems like and electric fan is better for my truck. just want some more opinions

Do you have a link to what you're talking about? It sounds like it's one with a manual on/off switch. If it's going to be the only source of cooling, you're going to want to get one with an automatic switch.

I think ive seen the fan your talking about in the LMC catalog, its adjustable as to what temp you want the fan to come on at, but once set you shouldnt have to change it.
electric fans are neat because their rpm is independent of engine rpm and when the fan is off, they cause no load on the engine, where as even when a mechanical fan clutch is disengaged, their is still some drag on the crank
depending on how you wire the electric fan, it would stay on after you shut the truck down until the coolant cooled off a bit, which im not sure if thats good or not, but ive seen it done

but also consider this, an electric fan can fail where as even though a crank driven fan can as well, its very unlikely.

that being said, a good electric fan is also unlikely to just fail.

i know i may sound a bit contradicting, but my objective is to point out potential pros and cons, but i really think it boils down to, do whichever you please :-)
both will do the job, so its just which ever you want
i prefer electric fans as i have them on my car ans 6 months of the year they are never on. where as the crank fan in my truck is always spinning

If you decide to go with the electric fans, Id love to see installation and finished photos ;-)
