yesterday the weather was nice enough to get into the garage and start putting things together. Would have had the rear done too, but I'm still waiting on the rear spring hangers....every place I tried has them on back order. But progress is progress!

How did you paint your springs? I understand that if you paint them all around it makes them stick and gives a rough ride. Did you assemble then paint the outside?

Also what are you using? Brushing on por15?

I completely disassembled the leafs and cleaned them up and painted each separately then reassembled them. I don't think it will effect the ride that much.

I used Magnet Paints Chassis Saver instead of POR-15....basically the same but cheaper.....applied it with a brush.

Paint Over Rust to Stop Rust Permanently With Chassis Saver Truck & Auto Underbody Coating

More parts have arrived and despite the cold weather and spitting snow I got the rear axle installed.




Front with tie rod installed
