Time to Sell my X

Hopefully this is allowed...figured best place to post is where X owners/buyers are going to be.

My office announced that it is closing and that I have the option to transfer 63 miles away each way, and can afford to drive the X back and forth each day. I am in Grand Rapids MI.
I have a 2005 Ford X Limited in Mineral Grey metailic. It has the 6.8L V10 and has ~ 98500miles on it but still is daily driver. I have put rancho 9000Xl adjustable shocks as well as moog greasable ball joints (august '10) in the front as well as redid brakes front and back in the Fall I use Napa gold Oil Filters and Mobil 1 synthetic on all oil changes. It needs nothing mechanically. Cosmetically it needs a new front bumper has dent and paint chips from stones and the rear bumper repainted as its rusting underneath on the ends ($600 to do both with factory parts). I had planned on replacing both with HD bumpers this spring when tax returns come back, but obvioulsy on hold now. It has Tan leather Buckets and 2 bnech seats for 8 Passenger capacity. I just put Brand New Goodyear Duratrac 285's on it this last fall also, and only has ~4500 miles since I did the change. It has Factory DVD and rear Air/Heat. It also has remote start which I will leave with it. Blue book on this is ~20700, since it is in need of the bumpers and I need to move it Im asking 18000 OBO locally but I am willing to deal some more , especially for FTE members...If you have been looking for one, This might be the one for you. I still have to get pictures taken / posted so if interested and want sooner and I will mail them to you asap.

Here is link to Blue book, mine is same color as picture, except not the towing mirrors. 2005 Ford Excursion Standard Equipment, Pricing and Information - NADAguides.com Thanks

Nice Ex bro, sorry about you having to sell it.

Just a heads up, vehicles for sale ad's are supposed to be posted in the classifieds forum.

You might want to post on CL in Colorado. We sold my fiancee's 2002 Explorer in less than 24hrs off Craigslist. How you ask? Here's my 3 "must do's" for selling a vehicle:

1. Nothing moderate/major left unresolved (sounds like you're good here)
2. THOROUGH cleaning
3. MANY MANY hi-res pics in the ad

People want to buy clean, "ready-to-go" vehicles and the more pictures of a SPOTLESS vehicle... the better. We had so many calls/email on her Explorer we didn't have to haggle. Man & his wife drove 100 miles to come get it the next morning. If you want help with the HTML code for putting the pics in your ad, PM me and I'll be glad to help.

Does your extended warranty come with the X? That might be a selling point.

Sorry Yes it is a 4x4, not sure where the warranty info is coming from It has no warranty. I know it is suppose to go in classifieds, Am hoping to get a few hits from people looking for an X specifically. I have posted it on CL locally, we have had crappy weather lately so I havent been able to get pictures of her without snow on it reguallarly. This was a sudden thing and will cost me almost $5oo more a month in gas. I drive less than 3 miles each way now....and no I dont work for the Postal Service.....lol....

You were asking $18K, what did the dealer pay?

$16300 for the trade in, but also recieved a heck of a deal on an extended warranty on new2me vehicle. I received a 60 month 100,000 mile....so for next 5 years or next 100k im covered powertrain 100% no deductible. They offer this warranty for $1800, but they gave it to me for $800. I have bought 3 vehicles from this dealer though, and they were both eager to get my vehicle and keep me a customer.

btw they started at 14500 as a trade in offer.

I had the idea to hang on to it for a bit to do better, however with gas prices going up $0.60 over the last month and expected to go higher I might have held it for a while. I thought it was a fair deal, and may have been able to get more private party, but with the hard times in Michigan and Gas prices as they are, not a risk I was willing to take with the timeframe I needed to move this in.

Please move this to the classifieds forum as it's against FTE guidelines to sell your truck out in the forums. Thanks!
