I just received my chrome shield (AVS Brand) for my 2011 F250. This particular product fits the hood like a glove and looks great, but it sticks down to the paint with 3M tape! It lays flat on the hood and I can't see how it will deflect anything. Also, what happens when water gets under it? Does anybody have any experience with this type of deflector? I haven't installed it yet, this may be going back.

Sounds like it may be for looks only and not deflect anything.
Thanks for you input.
I haven't noticed a problem with bugs on the windshield of my 2011. The hood is below the top of the grill chrome, and with the shape of the hood, they are redirected to the mirrors.
