Selecting & Shopping For MAF/E4OD-PCM/ECU

Selecting & Shopping For MAF/E4OD-PCM/ECU
I've been sitting on a small amount of Xmas cash for a while now, that I earmarked for my MAF upgrade. I picked up an airbox, meter, Y-pipe & a large chunk of injector wiring (All 95 5.0) some time ago for a paltry $60. The ECU was crushed in the wreck that put the donor in the JY in case you're wondering why I didn't nab it. (Plus it was 4R70, I believe.)
Since there seems to be an upsurge in detailed tech these days, I thought I throw this out there in hope of some quality advice & intrest.
Now I've only got 2 wiring diagrams for SBs/E4 with Mass Air currently at my disposal, along with the ECU list from fordfuelinjection dot com to go by.
Here's what I'm starting with. This is the wiring from my SD 5.8
Here is the MAF/E4 5.0 diag. for 94-95 which I would assume goes with the HOG0, U4X0, VEX1, and WAY1, plus what I recently learned of (but is not on FFI's list) the HOG1.
The issue with these units & this wiring is the extra terminal that is shown on the transmission controls portion, showing 9 wires over the 8 listed for the 5.8 SD diagram. With the extra terminal listed as "for E4OD only". How does one work around this in adapting these 5.0 ECUs to 5.8s?
This is the 95 Cali 5.8/E4 diagram, which has only 8 tranny connections in the same order as the SD. Unfortunately the only listing in FFi's chart shows the BIO0 as the only 5.8/E4 which has a F5TF (95?) part #, save for the AKC0 Lightning#.
At any rate, shopping for any MAF/E4 ECU is tough. Right now I've got lines on about 4-HOG1s on E-bay (around $160), as well as a Cardone unit isted as F5TF-AAC (for E4) but no program code. Searching Google gives many suppliers, but all are over $250-$300+ core+ they want a VIN... sheese! The ones on Rock Auto are nearly all "send in your unit for rebuild", no outright purchase & are only partial part#s at best.
Any help on suppliers, wiring info, complete part #s or additional program codes would be greatly appreciated. I know there's a lot of us 5.8/E4 guys that would love to do this if we could just get the right box.
Thanx,
D

Your diagram for the 5.8L Speed Density equipped truck is missing pin 30, MLPS. Both versions (MAF & SD) require that signal. If you cross reference the pin-outs from your diagrams with the info at FFI, you will see several of the signals go to different PCM pins but they are still there.
FWIW I know a few have used Code BIO0 for their 5.8L/E4OD MAF conversions on Broncos.

But that's the problem in working with a generic diag. I've got a Ford service disc for 95', but I'm having problems with my Windows 7 loading the reader, so I'm trying to get our backup PC on line to use it.
That would be my "holy grail" if I could find a trust-worthy supplier who has one on a shelf & willing to sell without a BIO0 core for a reasonable price.

I am confused by one thing on the diagrams listed.
The very first SD/5.8 diagrams only shows 2 injector signals...the MAF/5.0 diagram shows a wire for each injector.
WTF?
SOrry for the hijack, but I want do a MAF upgrade as well...so the question is do the wires exist for me to even do the upgrade? Or do you have to get a 5.0 injector wire harness? (maybe that is why you noted you got one...>)

Most of the good info is at fordfuelinjection.com Depending on your project some re-pinning, additions, subtractions will be necessary.
Oh and to add a lil info to your earlier Q, in SD, 4 injectors fire at the same time on one side. Then the other 4 on the other side, then the cycle repeats. In other words, a "batch" fire. Thats why there are fewer wires to the injectors.

hope your still on here.
I have a 95 lightning I am wanting to swtch over to maf, I have searched for a week now trying to find the ecm pinout diagram for it so I can match it up with a maf pinout diagram such as an A9L, and a stand alone E4OD controller, i need to know wich sensors are in the correct pins, wich ones I half to add swap or deleate, do you have any information that could help me, without abreviations, as its kinda confusing to me, lol thankyou.e-mail gwestmoland@gmail.com

Yeah, Life got in the way of my project & I haven't had the wherewithal to get it back on track. Never could find anything but e-bay units.
In regards a lightning swap, I don't see why it would be any different from a standard speed density truck. Regarding the wiring changes, I don't have any links for that saved, but the info exists here on site.
The best way to search FTE is with Google. But you must put FTE or Ford Truck Enthusiasts in the search query.
Also if you want to do this, you'll need to learn the abbreviations because nothing is going to have all the terms spelled out.
Welcome & good luck.

Yea, the 95 California Bronco 5.8 MAF E4OD is a Unicorn that I lucked across at local Pick N Pull. Has some sensor changes to it also along with a different EGR, EGR TUBE, DPFE SENSOR, NO MAP, and a lot of work putting everything into the factory harness instead of an overlay. Epoxy'd frame on truck, completely rebuilt both axles, and rebuilt transfer case. Finishing up wiring for headlight upgrade now and 130 amp alt. Hopefully getting wiring harness back into truck this wknd and start tearing motor down to take to machine shop this week. Not set on what I'm doing with motor yet.
