Seeking Drop In Air Filter

Howdy! This is my second post. I have been a member for a few months and have followed the writings a good bit longer. Up until now, I have not had to ask to get answers. Now, I have a question.

Does anyone make a truly free flow drop in air filter for a 2009 F 250 SD with a 5.4L?

My only experience is with K & N. That experience tells me that I want something less restrictive than they provide. I do not want a complete CAI, only a drop in.

Thank you all in advance for your help and for such a entertaining and informative forum.

Why could you possibly want anything lees restrictive then a K&N?
Are you trying to destroy your motor?
A K&N already lets more dirt get in your motor then it should.
I would not recommend anything less restrictive then that. It's not going to help your power anyway.

STP Paper element

I'll add my two cents and info. I use the Paper Element STP Brand. Can't remember the Number though. There are others I would say are good also. Bought mine at Autozone. They looked it up on the computer.

I had bought my 2010 f350 5.4 used with 9100 miles on it. I was checking fluids and popped off the air cleaner lid. The previous owner had installed a K&N filter. I pulled it out and the first thing I noticed is that he chopped away part of the rim of the filter itself I guess to make it fit in the box (riggin it!). Did not know the story, so I Pitched the k&n and put in the STP paper filter. Have Not had any issues. I figured the Ford Engineers designed the truck and the engine is all computerized and tuned to specs. Plus, it is still under warrenty. Runs fine and I figured If I just check/clean the box/change the filter when it calls for it It will run fine. A friend who runs a k&n in his dodge said you have to use their k&n cleaner to clean and k&n oil it when it is dirty. I guess it is preference,,, If you think running the $$K&n filter makes it run better, then buy it. Its not Rocket science. Doesn't have to be about the ching. Again,, Choice/Preference.
Have a good day.
