What is the Crankcase to head assembly?
I am take the heads off to install ARP studs. I am actually following the directions in the head removal procedure. Step 9 says to remove the crankcase-to-head tube assembly. Then right after that in step 10 it says NOTE: Do not remove the oil rail end plugs or acoustic wave attenuator port fitting. Service parts are not available to support the components.
I want to make sure I take off the right bolt. Is the crankcase-to-head tube assembly the 2 half inch drive bolts / plugs in high pressure oil rail?
Thanks

Thanks for the post. I took a chance and removed them both. Now I know that is where the new updated Dummy plugs and standpipe go.
For the most part I go with the philosophy put the square plug in the square hole and the round plug in the round hole, but the new plugs were different from the old and it made me leery to remove them as I really did not know what everything was that I was looking at.
I have the driver side head of sitting on the bench but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to get the glow plug harness off. I already broke the #2 plug trying to get it off. I am thinking I need to buy the right tool to get it off safely.
I just noticed the fuel tank you have….. 91 Gallons………. OUCH!! I guess when you are towing it prolongs fill ups, but OUCH!!

the glowplug harness will break with or with out the tool. with the head off and the injectors out you can push them up from insode the head. most of the time they break.
