questions on front lift height and FTVB

i dont have a picture right now i willget one posted later on today but i have a 2004 F-350 that has the small 4400lb front springs that i added a tuff country 1.5" add a leaf too and a pro form one inch shackle. I love the way my truck sits now but the factory springs are shot even with the add a leaf and it needs new anti glide pads and new bushings installed. Would a 2.5 inch level spring be enough to be the same as i have now or do i need to go taller? i was going to buy pro comp V10-diesel 2.5" levelsprings from summit and order pro comps poly bushings.
question #2- my cousin who is a die hard chevy guy and is a GM tech said that valve bodies are no good to use, he said that the chirp i hear from 1-2 shift is not actually a shift but a pressure leak that causes the tranny to hit reverse when it shifts from 1-2 making people thinkthe truck is shifting fast where it actually is a leak causes this reverse hit?? Is he right or just hating on my FTVB that shifts like an animal compared to his laptop tuned 1500 Chevy?? I personally think hes fullof sh#t because he blew his second tranny last thursday racing me at a stop street. his truck shifted from 1-2 and alli heard was BANG and himpulling over, followed bymy SD pulling him home on my car trailer

the chirp i hear from 1-2 shift
Is normal. I can hear a "chirp" from my stock VB under certain situations the FTVB just has a louder "chirp". I'm no trans expert however I think the "chirp" is created when the VB releases excess fluid pressure during the shift.

This "chirp" is typically 2 things.
The serpentine belt slipping from the sudden deceleration of the engine RPM's and the inertia of the accessories at the higher RPM's prior to the shift, or in some cases it's the tires slipping as the increase in torque from the shift causes them to "bark" on the pavement.

Sorry, I refuse to have anything to do with ANY vehicle that has been lifted, nor will I own orr work on anything that's been lifted.
Therefore I can't answer anything related to them.

I think you covered all your bases about how much credence to give your cousin.

thanks i know he's hating. my trucks louder even though he has a cam and headers and dual exhaust. his truck is faster but he's a typical Chevy *** hole. its just funny see a 5.4 eat him from the start and then you hear BANG and he pulls over. Priceless and i was hoping that 2.5 would be enough
