If your truck is off, then you'll be fine. If you try and disconnect that line when the truck is running, you'll have 15 qts of oil on you in a matter of seconds.

Check the o-ring at the snap lock fitting and check the threaded part that screws into the head. Sometimes that fitting will loosen up and needs to be snugged back down.

While I wait on the video to download, I'd like to say that's one heck of a camera you have there. Very clear on the close up shots.

Edit: I can't tell from the video. Tie a white rag around the hose where it goes into the head and take it for a quick spin. Might as well stuff a rag under the pedestal and another one up under the HPOP before the test drive. Then find the rag that's got fresh oil on it.

i think im gonna spray degreeser around that fitting and try to tighten it and then look at it again tomarrow and see what it looks like.. simple green to the rescue, it looks like allot of room in the pics but theres no way i could tie a rag around that fitting i dont think, look, i replaced all the orings in that fitting a year or less ago, cept i dont remeber if i replaces one between the fitting and the head.. and i do remember being afraid to tighten the fitting to much, so maybe its a little lose.

You don't really have to tie it. Just stuff it around the hose so it will catch the oil if there's a leak. Doesn't have to be a big rag, just a strip of cloth.

wow you wouldnt believe it, i went to tighten that fitting to the head and got around a full turn or so on that fitting to get it tightened up!

I must not have tightened it all the way, then it probably loosened up some also.. geez! maybe when i was getting on the gas it was spraying under there some, arent them really high pressure lines?

Well maybe i got one leak fixed, we will see, i sprayed simple green on it then brought buckets of hot water from the house and rinsed it off best i could anyhow.

Yes, there's a good 2,200 to 3,000 psi in those lines while driving around.

I hear ya - L-N-C. Everytime I saw the e-mail notification about this thread I thought, he must of found it this time. I feel your pain, especially when you can just about feel the cold and see the snowy, foamy, slushy, icy, oily stuff in the awesome pics.

Hey guys

New poster here. Since OP has figured out his problem, and no need to start another thread. I have same issue with my 02' 7.3. Pass. side HPO line leaking at head. But can't figure out how to get it offIt looks like a quick disconnect, but was a chevy tech by trade and not used to Fords. The clip looks like it is suposed to slide tords head but dont want to force it, and chevy QD's went the other way. Also gonna go ahead and replace all HPOP seals while im at it, cant beleive they lasted this long! Also thinking about putting on thethe HPX while i have it down. But need to see if i can get one tomorrow, truck has to be running day after. Anything else im missing i should do while im there? Thanks guys

there is orings inside and outside of them fittings to replace also. pretty easy to swap the orings out and cheap. a vendor on here sells the orings.
